Why we need Straightening
Why Euthyna Exists
Modern democracy has a gap. We vote every few years, but between elections, governments make thousands of decisions that profoundly shape our daily lives. Many are made without any direct public input.
Our mission
The gap, and what closes it
Most people care deeply about these decisions. They feel the impact on their daily lives and in their communities. But they don’t know where to start to have their voices heard. The existing channels are complex, inaccessible, or feel futile.
Euthyna solves that.
Accountability shouldn’t wait for election day. By giving people a way to express their position on specific decisions, mapped to the electorate they live in, we create a continuous record of where people stand, seat by seat, that a member can check for themselves.
Euthyna does not sell anything.
It is free for everyone. There is nothing to sell here, no advertising, and no data to trade about you or how you voted.
And Euthyna is designed to become unnecessary.
The straightening is a project, and a project ends. If governments represent us properly and take up the habits of explaining what they decided and letting people say where they stand, this site has no reason to exist and should close. Everything here is published so it can be copied — the briefs, the method, the boundaries — and nothing is built to make leaving difficult. Success is being able to stop.
What we believe
Core Principles
Every Voice Matters
Not just the loudest, the most connected, or the most wealthy. Every person’s perspective on the decisions that affect their life deserves to be counted equally.
Transparency Creates Trust
Every decision is explained in plain English with its source document linked, and the count is published seat by seat. How people voted stays sealed until voting closes, so nobody is nudged in any direction.
Local Knowledge Is Powerful
People living in a community understand the impact of decisions on that community better than anyone else. Euthyna keeps every vote attached to the electorate it came from, so it is clear what that community said.
Continuous Accountability
Democracy isn’t a once-every-few-years event. It’s an ongoing conversation between the people and those who serve them. Euthyna makes that conversation possible.
