Our sources

How an Issue Is Placed on Euthyna

All issues are sourced by Euthyna from official material published by Australian federal and state parliaments. This material includes Bills — a proposal for a future decision, Legislation — decisions that have become law, plus other documents created around the making of these decisions. Euthyna also sources officially published material from decisions that ministers have the power to make without legislation.

Verification is performed by reviewing Hansard — the official record of parliamentary proceedings and ministerial statements.

Once verified, issues are placed into relevant categories for easy search and voting.

Our rules

Euthyna Issue Rules

  • A question cannot change once it has been answered. Amendments are rare but possible only before voting opens.
  • The results of all issues are published. Closed issues remain on Euthyna. Nothing is deleted.
  • Every issue retains its history. This is maintained from issue creation to close.
  • Euthyna does not tell anyone how to vote. It publishes what people said so that those who can act on it can see it. It runs no campaigns and endorses nothing.
